An Non Traditional Dress

Happy Wednesday Budget Brides!!!

Not sure if your a fan of the Real Housewives Series, but I love all the foolish and fakery. Below is Cynthia Baliey and her new husband Peter Thomas on their wedding day. I absolutely love her wedding dress and but I am definitely not sure about the color. I understand that she was going for a non traditional wedding but the verdict is still out.

See Pics and more below.

One thing I can say is depending on what type of non traditional dress you get you can save a boat load of cash on your wedding day attire. You can find an amazing dress in your local department store (I LOVE the formal dresses at Nordstrom.com) or even rent a dress from a business like Rent the Runway.

So Budget Brides, what do you think about a non traditional color for your wedding dress? Would this work for you?

Surprise..... Surprising Your Guest With A Wedding

Happy Tuesday Budget Brides!!!

How good are you about being surprised????

Image Found Here

Mr. Budget and I were discussing our wedding the other day and I was just like how about a surprise wedding. Let's tell everyone we're having an engagement party and when they get to the restaurant they will find out it is actually a wedding. After I gave him a semi walk through of how it would go he was onboard. I think this is a great idea for us. It would allow us to have the cocktail reception that I always wanted and he can have the traditional ceremony that he always wanted without the church. It will also allow us to have an intimate gathering where the people who will attend will be generally there in support of our upcoming marriage. We are only looking to invited about 100 people expecting about 75 to actually come.

The downside is that we may not receive alot of gifts because we're giving people the idea that it is an engagement party. But I am okay with that. Now don't get me wrong I would love gifts but it is definitely not a deal breaker.

So what do you Budget Brides think about a surprise wedding? Good Idea or Bad Idea?

But here I am renewing my committed in bringing my Budget Brides all that is fabulous and budget conscience. So I loved the long gown detail seen at the Golden Globes. I think it is traditional but classic and can be made modern by any bride.

1. Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad

2. Sandra Bullock in Jenny Packham

3. Scarlett Johansson in Elie Saab

1. Lord & Taylor $2150

2. David's Bridal $850 (On Sale Org. $1050)

Absolutely in love with this silhouette!!!!! I think that it can work with most body types. It can be styled to fit a vintage or modern wedding. With the right accessories, hair and make-up you will definitely be the star of the show.

So Budget Brides, what do you think about this new trend seen at the Golden Globes? Would you wear it?

First set of images was borrowed from a UK online magazine which I did not keep the name to. If you know who it is please let me know so that I can give them credit.
